Gymreig ffurfiol Ymdaith y Cymry
sy'n seiliedig ar gyfansoddiad Handel, The Welsh March. Mae angen amrywiaeth yn y gerddoriaeth gan y dawnswyr a'u cerddorion wrth i'r ddawns ailadrodd ei hun drosodd a throsodd. Cynigir yma ddwy dôn amgen sy'n cyd-fynd â ffurf ac ysbryd y prif alaw. Mae'r rhain yn cael eu plethu gydag ailadroddiadau'r prif alaw yn y set hon i alluogi ailadroddiadau'r ddawns. Cynigir y rhain yma mewn dau gyfansoddiad modern yn yr arddull draddodiadol: Ymdaith yr Ŵyl ac Ymdaith y Cwm. |
This set is based on the Welsh set
dance Ymdaith y Cymry which
is based on the Handel's composition The
Welsh March. Dancers and their musicians need some variety in the music played as the dance repeats itself. Two alternative tunes which match the form and the spirit of the main tune are needed. these are alternated with the main tune in this set to enable several repetitions of the dance. These are offered here in two modern compositions in the tradidional style: Ymdaith yr Ŵyl (the Festival March) and Ymdaith y Cwm (the March of the Valley). |
